CARE CHAMPS

Many individuals have the Mission of Children’s Hospital of Illinois in their heart and want to assist children and families severed by the hospital-this includes youth of our community. We are so blessed to have the support of young donors and recognize this group as our Care Champs.
Our Care Champs have contributed to Children’s Hospital of Illinois in a number of ways. They have collected coloring books and crayons for our patients, donated toys or money from their birthday party, made blankets, sold handmade bracelets, and held small fundraisers to benefit Children’s Hospital.
If you or a child you know are interested in becoming a Care Champ and helping us to serve persons with the greatest love and care, please contact Wendy Mitchell at 309.566.5673.
A few of our generous Care Champs:
- Kiersten Gavin chose Children’s Hospital of Illinois as the recipient of her Girl Scout Silver Award Project. She collected books, stuffed animals, and crayons that were distributed to our patients.
- Jacob Betz used money from his birthday to purchase toys to be used by children being cared for at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
- Jessica Francher makes beaded bracelets and sells them at her mother’s store, Wannabe’s Resale. Her mother is also matching all sales up to $500. Read an article about Jessica from the January issue of Ladies First.
