Each year on the first Sunday following Memorial Day, the Foundation team proudly hosts the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon to benefit Children’s Hospital of Illinois.     

On Sunday, June 3rd over 700 people will gather in both Peoria and McLean County to raise funds and awareness and to celebrate Children’s Hospital of Illinois!

Our seven-hour live broadcast on WEEK 25 will go between locations at the RiverPlex in Peoria and the Parke Hotel & Conference Center in McLean County. When it is all said and done we hope to surpass last year's total of $2,217,009 to support hospitalized children in downstate Illinois! 

Meet Our Superheroes

Madison and Taylor Deters were born eight weeks early at a tiny 1 lb. 2 oz. and 4 lb. 3 oz. and rushed immediately to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Taylor spent three weeks in the NICU learning to eat, breathe and maintain her temperature. Being a preemie, Taylor would sometimes forget to breathe while eating, resulting in a heart rate drop. After three weeks she was able to go home.  Madison’s journey at NICU was a bit longer. Over the next three months she struggled with kidney failure, a small hole in her heart, infections and learning to eat. The talented medical team at Children’s Hospital helped Madison through each hurdle, getting her healthy enough to go home and join her twin sister. Today, Madison and Taylor are happy, healthy six year olds. Their Mom, Joni, shares that “neither of the girls have any problems. We owe this to the great doctors and nurses at the hospital. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know if Madison or Taylor would be here with us today. We are so fortunate to have this great children’s hospital right here in Peoria, IL. Before we had children, we took this for granted. Now, we really understand the important of having a top notch children’s hospital in our backyard.” 

Join us for this year's Telethon 

Returning once again to the Peoria RiverPlex and Normal’s Parke Hotel & Conference Center, this year’s Telethon will be broadcast live from 10am to 5pm on WEEK 25. We invite you to tune in to meet some of the remarkable children and families helped through your support.

You can also join in the fun by visiting the Superhero Kids Zone! Bring the kids to enjoy inflatables, crafts and reading corner.

The 2nd Annual Champion Chase Race will be held in Bloomington with a Fun Run beginning at 10:30 am followed by a 5k at 11:00 am. Click here for more information and registration.

Volunteer for the 2012 Telethon
