• Sunny Day with Julie K Event

It may have been blustery and cold outside, but inside the Embassy Suites East Peoria, supporters of Children’s Hospital of Illinois celebrated a warm, sunny day full of fun on February 25!  Over 400 kids and adults gathered for A Sunny Day event featuring a picnic style lunch, children’s fashion show and a concert by award-winning children’s recording artist, Julie K. 

The unique, family friendly event – the second of its kind benefitting Children’s Hospital – proved a huge success raising funds and spreading awareness for the first-rate pediatric medical services provided by the hospital. 

Several models in the fashion show were children who have been treated by Children’s Hospital , one of whom addressed the crowd at the conclusion of the show.  “My family and I are so grateful to have Children’s Hospital of Illinois in our community,” stated Liesl Peters, who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and receives continuing care at Children’s Hospital. “I’ve spent a lot of time [at Children's Hospital], and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the nurses, doctors and other caregivers are. Thank you for coming to support this cause.”

The event wrapped up with a raffle, silent auction and lively concert by Julie K., who moved kids and adults alike to get up and dance!
