MJC Fishing Tournament

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Maury Cicciarelli Memorial Fishing Tournament at Hidden Lakes on April 20 & 21! The days were filled with fishing, friendships and fun, but the outcome of the tournament goes far beyond the fond memories. The event raised nearly $50,000 to benefit Children’s Hospital of Illinois and will touch the lives of thousands of children and their families over the next year!

Children’s Hospital is close to the hearts of the Cicciarelli family. The physicians and staff helped Amanda Cicciarelli when she was 6. Amanda went into cardiac arrest and almost died, but the doctors at the Children’s Hospital were able to diagnose their first case ever of Kawasaki Disease. Their ability to make an accurate diagnosis saved her life. This type of care should be available to all children, and it is, through the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. We do not turn any child away and we are a better community because of that service and commitment to our children. Maury was a true believer in giving back to the community and giving to local charities that impact people’s lives. Children’s Hospital was a perfect fit.
